Miracles happen every day

I just want to thank our family and friends who've prayed for Moses' recovery these last few days. This experience has definitely strengthened my testimony and is positive proof of the power of the priesthood and the fact that Heavenly Father does in fact answer our prayers. I am so grateful to have the gospel in my life and for the strength and comfort it has afforded me during the last 72 hours. I love my husband and my beautiful baby boy with all my heart.

We were finally able to actually speak with Moses' doctor yesterday. They are no longer worried about any brain or organ damage. They even canceled the scheduled MRI for later in the week. Last night he even got his last IV out. He's still in the step down NICU unit for the time being. Right now we are working on getting him to eat. As soon as he eats well we can go home! That might take a while because at the moment he screams and screams, I pick him up, he eats for approximately one minute and then he falls promptly back asleep. But he'll get the hang of it soon enough.

Here are some pictures for your enjoyment : )

He just likes to sleep- a lot. Like mother like son I think.
This is a normal expression for him. I call it his grumpy old man face. Don't you just love it?
When he sleeps he looks so sad sometimes. Maybe he's dreaming about his birth again? It was definitely traumatic for both of us.
Bonding with Papi. Andreas is so great with him. Seeing him as a father has made me fall in love with him all over again.

I am so glad to hear that he is coming along so well. And even babies with non-traumatic births have trouble getting the hang of eating. Fortunately he's got the pounds on him to handle a little "drought" time!! We will keep you in our prayers!!

He is so cute and chunky! I am so glad everything is working out. Aspen didn't like to stay awake when she was born too. I used to take her clothes off and rub her with a cold washcloth to keep her awake. Pretty soon she was staying awake long enough on her own to finish eating. Poor Moses is just probably very tired from the work of getting here. And we are all so excited for you all!
