We ended up leaving a day later than we had planned. Turns out trying to organize, clean and empty your apartment can take time, especially with an 8 month-old in tow. So last Thursday morning we finally headed out. We drove over to the coast and starting following it south. We don't have a car so Moses isn't used to being strapped in a car seat for hours at a time, poor kid. Needless to say it was an adjustment.
We stayed in a sleepy little town the first night at a family caravan park that had direct access to the beach. So after we checked in and unloaded the car, down to the beach we went. Moses had never seen the ocean before, or sand for that matter. He was entranced. I loved it. I know I've said it before, but watching your baby discover things for the first time is so cool.
And sand.....Sand is his new best friend. He sat down and immediately started shoving handfuls in his mouth. Sadly the weather was never warm enough to actually go in the water but we hung out at the beach every afternoon/evening and Moses was happy as a clam just crawling around in, playing with and, of course, eating sand.
