Bern is home to this lazy momma bear (and her three cubs) pictured above. They have a nice habitat right on the river that surrounds the old town.
Moses was entranced once he actually saw the bear and saw it move. So entranced in fact that he did NOT want to move and held on to the bars for dear life.
My friend from old Jamaican days was in town for a few days. We had a blast. Despite Moses' skeptical look, he had fun too.
A million years ago when I was part of the BYU study abroad in Grenoble, we drove to Bern and saw the bears too - I don't remember much, but it was impressive. Although now we have bears in our neighborhood - not so impressive - more nerve-wracking!!
